Life Story for Wanda Joye Haase

Wanda Joye Haase, 88, passed Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Eufaula Nursing and Rehab Center in Eufaula, OK. She was born September 24, 1929, to John and Ruth Solomon in Mangum, Oklahoma.
Wanda married her husband Clarence “Gene” Haase on January 11, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico. They celebrated 64 years of life and marriage together.
Wanda received her nursing LPN license in 1956 at Lea County General Hospital in Hobbs, New Mexico. During the course
of her nursing career, she began working as a private duty nurse for burn patients. Her most rewarding patient, she once said,
was a young girl from Lovington New Mexico. Several times after the child’s release, Mom and Dad would drive to Lovington, NM.
to visit with the young girl.
She was a caring lady not only to her family, but to friends, and strangers. Both Wanda and Gene were faithful members of the
First Baptist Church till their health deteriorated. Wanda, along with Gene loved to fish and travel, making several trips to Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one son, and one great granddaughter. Wanda is survived by her two sons, John Connor, Midland, TX, and Wayne Connor, Corning, CA; one daughter, Donna Brendle, Eufaula, OK, as well as a brother-in-law, Bill Haase, Phoenix, AZ and sister–in-law, Kay Matthews of Maljamar, NM; four grandsons, Patrick Brendle, Las Vegas, NV, Steven Brendle and Joanie, Edmond, OK, Kevin Nitzel and Lori, Oklahoma City, OK, and Matt Haase, Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Mallory Brendle, Bartlesville, OK., Jayden and Kayelee Brendle, Edmond, Samantha, Jordan, and Lucas Nitzel, Oklahoma City.
Viewing will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
